About us
Camille
Creator
Camille was born in the south of France. From a very young age, she was interested in Art in all its forms: drawing, pottery, painting, etc., which naturally led her to take classes at the public school of Fine Arts in Marseille, where she chose to learn charcoal drawing and painting. Leather goods maker for 10 years, she started with Compagnons du Devoir in 2013 and continued her career in the biggest French luxury houses, including Hermès, Louis Vuitton and Goyard. There she perfected traditional and industrial techniques and after-sales service, before sharing her knowledge as a trainer. She is an artisan within the Manufacto program for the 2023-2024 school year (Manufacto, the know-how factory, a program of the Hermès Corporate Foundation) in parallel with VA/CA Atelier.
Her idea: Recycling leather scraps from luxury houses.
Reusing materials that are often cast aside and forgotten is one of the brand’s fundamental values.
Maxime
CEO
Maxime grew up between the Paris region and Burgundy, always curious to understand life and incompatible with the traditional school system. He left school at a young age to dedicate himself to photography, drawing, and painting, drawing inspiration from artists from all walks of life.
At the age of 20, he met Sylvia Moschard, a master in leather craftsmanship. She imparted her expertise and passion for the craft to him. During his apprenticeship with the Compagnons du Devoir, he formed a lasting friendship with Camille.
Maxime then worked in the leather goods industry for six years, overseeing a project for Christian Dior that took him around the globe. Later, he settled in Lyon to become a trainer for luxury houses. Tired of the industry, he joined a startup where he learned about technology and accounting organization. In 2024, he returned to craftsmanship by accepting the position of CEO at VA/CA Atelier.
Maxime aims to make VA/CA Atelier thrive by honoring artisanal traditions while embracing a modern and innovative approach.
